WESTPORT — Staples girls tennis, No. 3 seed in the FCIAC tournament, ousted No. 6 Darien 4-0 in Tuesday’s quarterfinals at home. Match results are:

Singles

Olivia Lazar defeated Scarlett O’Malley, 6-0, 6-3.

Aanya Gandhi defeated Andrea Coppe, 6-1, 6-2.

Sadie Yanks defeated Luli Escajadillo, 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles

Rhiya Anand/Amelia Berkowitz defeated Lucy Best and Sara Droogan, 6-2, 6-4.

Isabel Alfageme/Rachel Guzman defeated Ava Gupta/Sydney Johnson, 6-3, 6-2.

Singles player Tatum Keefe won the first set, but her match was still going when the win was called for Staples and play stopped. 

Doubles partners Azita Vazhayil/Dylan Lehrer had just started their match when the Wreckers locked up the win.

Staples is now scheduled to visit No. 2 Fairfield Ludlowe in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday because of rain forecast Wednesday and Thursday. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
